Armchair BEA: Best Yet of 2012 & B&N GC Giveaway!
I am sure I can say this every year, but there has been some fine reading happening! Not gonna lie, there was some crap reading happening too, but even those stinkers make the good ones all the better.
I am actually having a hard time comprehending that 2012 is pretty much half over as is my goal of 100 books for this year (well, I’ll hit it by the end of this month). Which means I’ve read close to 50 books and it was far tougher than I thought to come up with any sort of Best list. But hell, let’s give it a shot.
Top 5 Best Yet Books of 2012 (Note: not all of these books were released in 2012 however they have been released within the last 12 months.)
By far, Ready Player One is my favorite book of 2012 (even though it came out last fall). It is probably one of my favorite books of all time now.

I haven’t read any new releases yet this year, but the two that I’ve been looking forward to getting my hands on are the next installments in the Delcroix Academy series by Inara Scott and the Dead Beautiful series by Yvonne Woon!
Great giveaway, I see the cover for the next installment in the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series, it’s epic! (and the first time I’m seeing it!) Did you enjoy the first book in that series?
Daughter of Smoke and Bone was one of my favorite reads from last year. It was so different than anything I had read before. Definitely worth it!
You have great best books choices there. Ready Player One was my favorite book from last year. This year so far 11/22/63 by Stephen King and Wonder by R.J. Palacio are my favorites.
I actually just downloaded Ready Player One from Audible today since I’ve seen both you and Jen talk about it!:)
Days of Blood and Starlight and The Raven Boys are high up on my most anticipated list as well.
hi, first time seeing your blog and I like it alot.
Hi! *waves* One of my favourite reads so far this year is probably Not That Kind of Girl by Siobhan Vivian — it’s a thought-provoking contemp YA book that quite impressed me. I also gave in and finally read Vampire Academy, and then was hooked and tore through the rest of the series earlier this year. I haven’t heard much yet about the spin-off series but I think I’ll be picking up the first one at some point!
In terms of books I’m looking forward to…I have Insurgent but I haven’t read it yet because I think I should re-read Divergent first! I also have Grave Mercy sitting on my shelves and I’ve heard such good things about it I know I need to read it soon. As for books that are yet to be published…well, I’ve been waiting for Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas for a long time now, so I’m glad it will finally be out this year!

I’m dying waiting for the Days of Blood & Starlight. Daughter of Smoke and Bone was by far my best read last year. I’m also way excited for the Raven Boys!
