The World’s End

The World’s End (2013)

Edgar Wright

Five friends who reunite in an attempt to top their epic pub crawl from 20 years earlier unwittingly become humankind's only hope for survival.

[Spoiler Alert]: If you care about the semi-surprising twist of what the end of the world actually entails, then you may want to skip this review. Really it can be summed up in one sentence… Sometimes it takes the end of the world to kick your drinking habit and find purpose.

First there were zombies, then there was a mysterious cult and now there’s blue plastic aliens? Sure, why not.

The last of the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy sees Simon Pegg and Nick Frost on a binge through their childhood town during what ends up being an alien invasion.

Most of this movie was more pathetic than funny, the few gags it offered becoming quickly redundant. By the last half hour, I was enjoying the bottom off the popcorn tub far more.

Another meh, for the summer season.
